How do I send email from a Django app?

A user asks:
"I am using the login component for the Django scaffold on the Crowdbotics platform. I copied the .env from .env.example and ran it on my side locally, and it was successful.

But sending email is not sending real emails. Why not?"

Emails will send out normally when the app is in a production setting, ie, hosted and running on a cloud server. You can deploy your app to see how this works.

Locally, emails will print to your console. This is so that you don’t inadvertently email people while developing your application. If you look at your terminal where Django is running, you’ll see the emails there.
